Your Club Update March 2024
Tasmania Football Club
13 April 2024
It feels as though it has been a while since our last Board update, maybe that is because of what has happened since that update. It is now almost a month since our Club launched on 18 March and I am proud to share that we now have nearly 185,000 Founding Tasmania Devil Members, devils that are located in nearly 50 countries around the world.
Before I move onto members I want to thank everyone who participated in our Launch on 18 March, it was a fabulous celebration that would not have been possible without all of you being a part of it - whether you were on stage revealing a jumper, helping with AV at one of many events, at your local Club with your mates or at home streaming the night, thank you. We were so happy that we were able to share it with all of you and thank you so much for being a part of it.
In our most recent Board meeting we gained a high-level understanding of our member base. We are really pleased to see such an equal spread of age groups, regions and gender in our database mix as it stands today, our Club is so passionate about being inclusive and a place for us to all celebrate community. We are also thrilled to share that we have over 100,000 members located in Tasmania, and no doubt many Tasmanians and 'Tasmanians at Heart' living on the big island and abroad.
We are so very grateful to every single member who has signed up and we are loving the posts to #releasethedevil that are flooding our social media accounts, keep them coming! If you know anyone that has not yet signed up, please encourage them to do so at tasmaniafc.com.
We also released our first piece of official Club merchandise one week ago, our Foundation Jumpers will be able to be purchased for one more week, they look fantastic and we cannot wait to see them being worn proudly across the globe. We have several more official Club merchandise items coming, we will be communicating the whole program in the coming weeks. I do encourage all Members to purchase only through the Club website to ensure that you are getting official merchandise and supporting your Club.
Club infrastructure continues to be a key focus for the Board. We continue to work alongside a range of stakeholders on key projects including progressing our training and administration centre and stadium infrastructure in the south, north and north-west of Tasmania. You can expect to see and hear more of the Club around these key projects over the coming months, I cannot emphasis how important they are to our Club and the experience that they provide to our members, fans, athletes, administrators and media.
The Club was proudly represented at Gather Round in Adelaide in the first week of April. We were given the opportunity to share our journey and our plans for the Club to a large audience and I am thrilled to report that the enthusiasm and support for our Club from this audience was palpable, it was also pleasing to know that many that attended Gather Round are Tasmania Devils members.
We have another Board meeting coming up shortly and we have a very full agenda. We are continuing to tick off and progress items on our Establishment Phase Business Plan - Foundations, Fans and Facilities. We are more focused than ever before and are committed to making sure our Members have the opportunity to come with us on the journey to the first bounce.
Thank you again for your support, and don't forget to encourage any of your mates, colleagues, family or friends to sign up if they haven't already!
Best wishes,
Grant
