Interview: Emma Humphries
01 August 2024
Trailblazing women's footballer Emma Humphries talks about her experiences playing in the early years of the AFLW. It was a rapid rise for the Wynyard product, who only started playing football at the age of 18. Humphries went from Burnie to exhibition games with the Western Bulldogs to playing in Melbourne's first ever AFLW clash – a match affected by a lightning delay – and onto the North Melbourne Tasmania Kangaroos. After a stint with West Coast, Humphries has now retired from the AFLW and can't wait to see Tasmania enter the competition in coming years.
