The ‘Who done it’ story of the 1967 Grand Final

06 December 2023

We know Tasmanians are passionate about their footy and there is perhaps no greater example than the events of the infamous state Grand Final between Wynyard and North Hobart at Burnie's West Park in 1967.

This match is part of Australian football folklore and, until now, the ultimate 'who done it' story. With North Hobart's David 'Dickie' Collins lining up for an after-the-siren goal to win the game, the Wynyard supporters pulled the posts clean out of the ground to deny him.

As we get ready for the first of our Fabric community events on the coast, find out what really happened that day and, for the first time, hear from those responsible.
